Washed your paper money...let your Rowenta steam iron save it

We've all been there. Through forgetfulness, we've washed our money in the laundry. Some of it can be recovered rather easily. But some has gone through such a long wash and dry cycle that any attempt to separate it will result in financial loss. Well before you cut your losses. Give your Rowenta Steam Iron a go at it.

1) Heat your steam iron to its highest temp and steam output.

2) Don't try to unravel your money just yet. Leave it how it is.

3) Place the money on a thick towel on an flat surface. You want the steam to surround the money. Not bounce back up from the non insulated flat surface.

4) Let the steam iron hover over the money using the steam burst button to build massive steam.

5) Use The whole water reservoir on the money.

6) While the money is wet, slowly pull it from an area that is wide and softened.

7) As it separates, keep pulling the parts that freely give way.

8) Once the money is separated, go ahead and iron dry with light steam.

You can also try this with old brittle documents you want to try and salvage. through time and heat, the oils and water has leached out of the paper, Lie the paper on a hard flat surface. Don't use a towel. Use steam to reconstitute the paper. Hover the steam iron over the paper letting the steam penetrate the paper. Once the paper can be handled, scan or copy it and store it on your computer or photo copy it.
