Use your Rowenta iron to sanitize dish sponges and scouring pads
""
Many are hesitant to use sponges because they are known for being a breeding ground for
bacteria. There water holding properties make them notorious for unsanitary conditions. But that doesn't
necessarily have to be a bad thing. You can use that same moisture holding property to sanitize it and scouring
pads.
Fill your steam iron and
put it on the highest temperature and steam setting. Place the sponge or pad in the stainless steel sink. One
advantage to stainless steel is that its properties make it sterile concerning germs.
Hence, the reason to place the pads in the sink. Take the steam iron and hold it directly on the pads and
periodically push the steam button to disburse the steam and heat into every crevice of the pads.
I'm not a scientist, so I don't know exactly how long until you can be sure the steam did its
job. but you could probably Google it. I would do a reservoir tank or two.
Use half of the tank for one side and flip over and do the other side. It may seem impractical, but you can do this
when ever you iron something. It beats having toxic chemicals hanging around.
