Use your Rowenta steam iron to cut dust floating on silk plants
Artificial plants are a worry free way of having beautiful foliage and flowers year round. But
they are not maintenance free. allergy sufferers will tell you they can flair up their condition just by walking in
a room they're in. But here's a tip that may help you find relief between your deep cleaning.
After you clean your silk plants thoroughly. Periodically, fill your steam
iron and set it at its highest temperature and steam setting. Hover your steam iron a good
distance from your silk plants. Take care not to get to close as heat will melt the delicate structure of the
plants.
Place a good amount of steam throughout the plants. Use the steam button too create more steam. What you're
doing is moisturizing the plants so that any dust particles will be trapped by the water atoms, get heavier and
tend to fall rather than hover in the air or become air borne with the small currents of air a walker by
produces.
The down side is you will create a thicker layer of immobile dust that has to be washed off when you clean. But the
positive side is as you clean them with a damp cloth, there's less chance of the dust becoming air borne and
flaring up your allergies.
